You can dispute the matter with Chexsystems. And especially the Bank that reported you to them in the first place.

No matter what any bank manager, or employee, may tell you, they have the ability to notify Chexsystems and instruct them to remove your name from their database. They placed you in Chexsystems and they can have you removed at any time!

All your communications with them should be in writing so you will have a documented record of everything.

If the problem was clearly their error, send them a letter along with copies of any documentation that supports your position. You do not want to rude but you want to be firm and make it clear to them that you know it is a violation of federal laws to report any information that is inaccurate, or misleading, which is exactly what they have done.
